When I travel the nation I watch people. I like to have a finger on the pulse of the population. I look for what makes them happy, sad and where they put their energy and money.

Like all of my writings, I tend to look for the root causes. Oddly enough, where I see problems, others just see quirks. The same as someone would giggle at the funny noise a car is making, I hear a catastrophic failure imminent.

So as you could imagine, when I see a grown ass man walking around a store wearing tactical gear or a Storm Trooper costume I have to ask — what am I seeing here?

When I can’t figure it out, I’ll go to the other side of the same coin. What am I not seeing here? These answers are easier to find.

  • I’m not seeing a fulfilled person.
  • I’m not seeing a person who has defined their purpose.
  • I’m not seeing a person who has what they need, parts of their “hierarchy of needs” remain missing.

It’s one thing to see this sort of thing as an outlier, however it has become more pronounced. This is a situation that requires a critical thinking approach to understand — to do some searching for the root cause and chain of events that led to a…
