Sorry, but the easy route will not get you there

How many times have you gotten to the end of a long day where you were “finally” able to hit the couch and relax? Accomplishment is one of those things that just feels better — and a great practice to get into. Doing SOMETHING to completion is what leads to our fulfillment.

Everyday, we should all strive to create reward for our hard work.

Too often, we seek the benefit of that reward without trying to do the needed work that will make it feel as good as it can. We tend to do this in almost all aspects of life from cooking, cleaning, and self care — all the way to getting a good nights sleep.

The best moments of fulfillment are always made better by putting in the work to get there.

Sure, we can all buy the things we want — but that’s the easy way, and how often has easy been better?

Let’s ask these simple questions:

  • Is that coffee or tea as good as the one you make for yourself?
  • Does that carwash you drive into do as good of a job as when you do it on your own?
  • Does that couch feel as welcoming if you did nothing all day?
  • Does a mile driven feel as good of an accomplishment vs. the one you ran with your own two feet?

More often than not, the harder, more involved processes yields better personal results.

Always do as many of the things you can on your own and earn the fulfillment and accomplishment. Your body and spirit will thank you.
