I think the rub about having a niche is that when you have answered a reader's question, they are not as interested in your works. If you are wide ranging and are putting your personality out there along with diverse viewpoints, you aren't getting a once-and- done reader. You are gaining a follower who wants to know what elese you have to offer. Your work feeds a need for more.
