We all have a thing that we want to do. That thing can change from day to day and ultimately gets placed on the back burner. We won’t stop making excuses for our inaction.

All actions throughout all of existence has one question that needs asked before anything can happen.

What are you waiting for?

I call this “the great question”.

For every choice we make and decision we need to act upon there are certain parameters that have to be met. If we need to go at a light, the light has to change to green. If we want to ask the girl out, we have to be ready to present our best.

We’ve all stood at the precipice and nervously waited for “the right” conditions to act. Many great minds didn’t necessarily wait, but did line things up so that success was possible.

Excuses are the enemy of growth and possibility

When we are standing there at that flash point waiting for the right conditions, many times an unwelcome, doubtful voice will pop in and offer a cheap escape plan. We call them excuses.

An excuse will stop potential greatness dead in its tracks.

Making excuses will rob you of your great potential. An excuse will only offer a temporary comfort whereas action can give a grand gift of life and opportunity.

Everything we all know and love came from a point where making the brave choice to act brought certain joy and progress into our lives.

Anyone who has ever chosen to sail off on an adventure, write a novel, or started a major business empire began by not making excuses and simply acting.

Don’t be afraid of taking action for the sake of being a little comfortable.

Discomfort is the soil we grow best in.
