As technology and conveniences are developed we all lose certain muscle memory. Things we once had to carry great distances are delivered. We no longer need the strengths we once did. Over time this can be detrimental to our fulfillment.

Lumberjacks used to carry axes and bow saws, those tools have been replaced by fuel powered chainsaws. Writers needed clean handwriting, now we need “words per minute” typing skills.

Oh yes, there are always going to be adjustments to all trades. Out with old cumbersome tools and in with new modern efficiencies. This is the march of progress.

However, society still needs to encourage a clear strength of character among its people.

What I’ve taken notice to lately is the overall lack of strength and resolve society has. What used to be so easy for people as a whole to accomplish is now being overmanned and under developed. A task that used to take 1–2 people a few hours is now being delegated to 5 people for a week — and it still needs more resources.

In my line of work it is easy to see across many industries. I have repeatedly watched several people wait for an hour or more for a piece of equipment to come do the work…
