Indoctrination

During my adolescence years my parents were convinced that Mormonism was the destined lifestyle of the family. While attempting to graft that particular O.S. over our lives we were consistently exposed to the various religious works of the time.

These included Hallmark style made for T.V. movies that the church produced and other propaganda cartoons certain to indoctrinate even the most developed of minds. It was also pretty common to attend church functions throughout the week and to go do viscous circle activities with the other local members.

This way an orb of self perpetuation was formed and narrative that “we (Mormons) are good and they (everyone else everywhere)are bad” could be cultivated and maintained. My natural rebellious personality was having little to none of it. So I had to ask, why should I stay in the LDS church?

Even though I was trapped there until I was 18, going to church wasn’t entirely a waste. I tend to believe that even the most frivolous use of time can yield something of use if one looks hard enough and is capable of seeing it, much like a prospector in a river.

Although I hated the whole church concept and being forced to live a certain way, I was still always seeking…
