We’ve all been taught that you need to find that thing we love to do. Then once located we are to then somehow convert our love or passion into a successful career.

The problem with that logic is that it has a limitations. There are people who love and have a passion for binge watching Netflix. I’m sure there is a job somewhere that allows for that to be lucrative but it may have a narrow demand and pay very little. A supplemental income of reviewing Doritos and Mountain Dew may be required.

So ultimately finding a passion and a love of doing something is clearly limited by the amount of life experiences a person has had.

A common tale

Let’s go a tad deeper into this rabbit hole while we are here. Suppose someone has a deep love and passion for metalworking/machining. They were banging and bending silverware together from a young age. They were “meant” to be a fabricator.

This “destiny” was simply created because the family was poor and couldn’t expose the child to more activities or experiences. Nonetheless, the kid grows up to go to machining school.
