When Shipwrecks Share a Whisper
How old wrecks and works call on us to listen
If you ever are on a beach and you come across some debris or the rotten frame of an old shipwreck half buried in the sand, you will always go to it — well I do anyway.
People are drawn to a shipwrecks. I happen to live where they have been a common occurrence over the centuries. I myself have come across a couple small remnants of their weathered remains over the years. It is always super exciting.
What is the allure exactly?
For the many who “don’t get it”, these exposed pieces are just that; a collection of wood, nails and bolts — just old washed up pieces.
For those of who do happen to “get it”, they are a treasure. Not in the traditional pirates chest sort of way. No, instead they are spiritual in their riches.

Shipwrecks aren’t the only place I’ve seen this draw. I once had a customer who absolutely loved old barn wood. He studied the stuff and used it to trick-out his home.
