There is an epidemic in this country. TOO MANY PEOPLE CAN’T DEAL!! For the past few years, dispensaries have been growing like… well, weeds…

The problem with the general population is that they have once again become enabled to self medicate. All a person has to do is go to a “doctor” and tell them they have some form of “anxiety” and answer the questions with the right answers and boom… They have a card.

The bigger issue at hand here (which is what I always tend to go for) is that people have not been properly exercised in how to deal with stress and adversity. Somehow we have created a generation of “adults” who for some odd reason believe that the world is to mold around their expectations of it.

Then when things don’t go 100% their way, they cry “foul” and go back to their comfort zone and hope things change by the next time they go out. To make their actions sociably acceptable, they simply take on the disease of “anxiety”.

To aid in their incurable affliction, they are enabled by the rise of readily available corner dispensaries.

It’s not all bad

I am in no way against use of cannabis. I think it is fine to indulge occasionally. It’s no different than a glass of wine or a nice Scotch. The difference comes when people are allowing their weakness to dictate their use (much like alcoholism).

I also believe that medicinally it may very well hold the keys to helping those with very real health related ailments cope. I’m personally happy to hear how children going through cancer treatments gain comfort and other abilities.

Like all substances, they have their place. It’s time to look at this one and suggest that the issues present are more societal than medical. Society has weakened in it’s resolve.

A medical miracle for those with cancer — hey, whose not all for that???

A 40 year old father of two who sits around all day playing video games and refuses to go to work because he has “anxiety”… TRY AGAIN TODD!!!

Imagine going back to 1945 and telling your sad anxiety story to a crewman who survived Pearl Harbor… Chances are that you won’t get much sympathy. People used to be stronger and somehow along the way we allowed them to soften up to the detriment of the whole.

Time to harden up

People need to be taught that the world is not the clean paved path that most parents have created for them. Yes, I’m blaming parents…

It’s time to accept that the world needs YOU to adapt and overcome rather than making excuses and hiding in your bedroom. In the end, no substance can convince you that you are strong enough to take on the challenges that the world offers you to grow from.
