Living Together Separately

This happens too often in marriages

Don’t let your relationship fall into this situation.

Do you or someone you may know live with their spouse but seem to be completely absent from each other?

I once knew a person who would tell me about their one friend who slept in his basement every night. He and his wife had “the life”. As we all know that is not every cheap.

The two of them were living two separate lives but sharing the same roof. They also weren’t intimate anymore. When I’d ask why they don’t just divorce the reasons (excuses) were all rotating around the typical stuff.

We’ve all heard them; you know, kids, families that they are both close to, they make too much money and a divorce would ruin them both financially., etc… All great understandable reasons to stay under one last name and roof. Insert eye roll emoji here.

From there to here

The part I’m saddened by is that is got this far. I may not be a psychology major with a degree from Stamford, but I do know that at some point somewhere before marriage, these two people may have actually liked each other.
